From The Daily Herald (Provo, Utah) - Monday, February 11, 1935:

Mrs. Lorene Vance Christensen, 30, wife of Ertmann Christensen, died Sunday morning at the family home from a heart attack caused by influenza.

Mrs. Christensen was born in Orem, Jan. 1, 1905, a daughter of John A. and Matilda Martin Vance. She graduated from the Lincoln high school and attended the B.Y.U. She taught school at Elko, Nev., for two years, and again for a year at Lake View. She married Mr. Christensen, Sept. 26, 1928 in the Salt Lake temple.

She was an active L.D.S. church worker, at the time of death holding the office of organist in the Sharon ward Primary. She also served as counselor in the Y.W.M.I.A. and had been a Sunday school worker.

Surviving are her husband; parents; three children, Dean, Bonnie, and Carol Christensen, all of Orem; two brothers, John A. Vance Jr., Park Valley, and Ronald Vance, Salt Lake City, and eight sisters, Mrs. Angie Rawlings, Draper; Mrs. Dora Borgquist, Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. Sadie Herbst, Bellflower, Cal.; Mrs. Zola Malone, Denver, Colo.; and MRs. Matilda Elliott, Mrs. Nina V. Stratton, Mrs. Melba Calder, and Mrs. Bernice Partridge, Orem.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 o'clock in the Sharon ward chapel. Interment will be in the Provo city cemetery, under direction of the Berg Mortuary. [Lorene was later moved to Orem Cemetery.]
