Furman Willis Glover, Sr., son of the late Johnnie Junius Glover, Sr. and Lucille Booker Glover departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 30, 1932 in New Canton, VA.

Furman joined Third Liberty Baptist Church, New Canton, VA at an early age and attended Liberty School. He retired after many years from Solite Corporation. He was married to Maxine Smith Glover until her death in December 2002.

In addition to his parents and wife, Furman was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Mae Glover Bowles; four brothers, Johnnie J. Glover, Jr., Billy Franklin Glover, George Enos Glover, and Dave Thanks Glover.

Furman leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jelinda Brown of Charlottesville, VA, Deborah Taylor and Roberta White (Sam) of New Canton, VA; five sons, Ronald Glover (Debbie) of Stafford, VA, Furman Glover, Jr. of Dumfries, VA, Willis Glover, Perry Glover (Deanna), and James Glover (Sharon) of Richmond, VA; two brothers, James Marvin Glover of New Canton, VA and Curley Glover (Brenda) of Richmond, Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Clara Glover of Laurinburg, NC, Nora Glover of Richmond, VA, Joyce Minor of New York and Jean "Cookie" McGuire (Nate) of Richmond, VA; he leaves 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
