Maxine Sullivan Glover, 63, of New Canton, VA departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002. She was born June 7, 1939, in Baltimore MD, the daughter of Florine Jones and the late John Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 44 years, Furman Glover Sr.; nine loving and devoted children including five sons and their wives, Willis (Cathy), Furman Jr. (Sonja), Perry (Deanna), James (Sharon) all of Richmond, VA, and Ronald (Debbie); two daughters, Deborah Taylor, and Roberta White (Samuel White) of New Canton VA; stepdaughter, Jelina Watson Brown of Charlottesville VA; stepson, David Gray; her mother, Florine Jones; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Minor, Myrna Fisher and Jean "Cookie" McGuire; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Maxine's remains rest at Thomasson's Funeral Service Chapel, Fork Union VA, and will be available for viewing from noon to 5 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Third Liberty Baptist Church in New Canton, VA with the Rev. Raymond Q. Lawing and the Rev. Nelson Tindall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
