John Burnsed's wife was Delilah, daughter of William Sheffield, "RS", of Bulloch Co, Ga.

John Burnside/Burnsed, & his wife Delilah (Sheffield), had the following known children (dates of birth approximate).

1. Elizabeth b. 1785. m. (unknown);
2. John b. 1788, m. Elizabeth Schuman, June 9, 1813;
3. Pollie b. 1790, m. William Slater;
4. William M. b. 1795-96, m. Nancy Newman;
5. Edmond b. 1798, m. Susan ??. Died 1834 in Camden Co, GA;
6. James M. b. 1803. m. Mary Dukes. daughter of John Dukes;
7. Cynthia b. 1805. m. (unknown);
8. Nancy b. 1808, m. James Griffin (Vol. Xl.)

John Burnsed was a Revolutionary soldier "RS" (see Knight's Roster of the Revolution in Georgia) served as a private in the Georgia Line.

He lived at various times in Chatham & Bulloch counties, GA, but spent his last years in Bryan Co., GA, probably having been cut into that county in its creation out of Chatham Co., GA (Dec. 1793). His widow drew land in the 1827 land lottery as the widow of a Revolutionary soldier. She seems to have received through her father a substantial estate. Their son, John Jr., was administrator of her estate.

The sons Edmond and James M., moved to Camden Co., GA
and lived in the portion made into Charlton county in 1854.
