Evelyn Anderson Huff, age 90, passed away quietly July 16.

She was a loving wife of 64 years to Purvis Huff, who preceded her in death by a couple of months. Evelyn had three sons, Jeff (Kathy) Huff, who also preceded her in death, Kevin (Nanette) Huff, and Matt (Jennifer) Huff, and one daughter, Karen (Eddie) Hacskaylo. She had six granddaughters, Anna (Will) Hederman, Ashley (Aaron) Sparks, Carly (Joel) Sink, Madeline Huff, Claire Hacskaylo, and Emily Huff, and one grandson, Landon Huff. She was the great grandmother to Timothy and Anders, sons of Ashley and Aaron Sparks. Another great grandson, Beck, is on the way, parents, Anna and Will Hederman.
Evelyn was born October 15, 1926 to Myers A. and Anna Dean Anderson in Amite County, MS. Her family included three brothers – Darrys (Annette), MH (Margaret), and Harland (Jeanett), and one sister, Faye (Billy) Barron, all having gone before her. As an Aunt, she was interested in the lives of her many nieces and nephews. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger.

She would have said that her favorite role was "NaNa". Her grandchildren were always welcome and she entertained them with energy that few could match. At NaNa's house there were no rules, no bedtimes, and no limit on the amount of sweet tea, blueberries, cornbread or sweet potatoes that the kids could eat. She created elaborate water parks on her back patio using tubs, buckets, hoses, and slides for endless hours of fun and games. Considering the upended furniture, blankets, pillows and toys strewn about, one would think a tornado had torn through her den after visits from her grandchildren.

A closet poet, she wrote many poems and essays. Being modest, she shared these with only a few. She was very creative, and enjoyed art classes at her last place of residence, The Blake, of Flowood.

There will be a graveside service at the East Fork Baptist Cemetery in Liberty, MS. Visitation will begin at 10:30 with the service at 11:00.

Evelyn supported many charities including: St. Jude, March of Dimes, and her church, Griffith Memorial Baptist in Byram, MS.
Her favorite Bible verse was fitting because she desired to bless all who knew her. Numbers 6:24-26 "May the Lord Bless you and Keep you, May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you, may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."
