George was the son of John Frederick Rudolph (1776-1868) and Anna Walworth (1778-1847) Wagner. Two of his siblings, Daniel and Maria Louisa, became famous miniature portrait artists. George married a distant cousin, Lucy Amanda Walworth (1811-1888) and they had 8 children. Born in Chenango County, New York he raised his family in Knox County, Illinois and his listed occupation was 'painter.' They had just come to live with his son George H. Wagner in Crawford County, Kansas in 1878 when he passed away. He is my 3x great grandfather.
