Bryant Young Burford, 91, passed away August 30, 2006, at his home in Longtown, MS. Mr. Burford was born to Vernon Young and Bessie Bea Ray Burford, a Panola County Pioneering Family on May 12, 1915. He was a life long resident of Longtown, MS., a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of the Crenshaw Inited Methodist Church in Crenshaw, MS., where he served in various capacities. He also served on the Cemetery Association, the Acessor's Office and Argicultural Committees.
Mr. Burford is the widower of Velma Cocke Burford and leaves two daughters, Ann Kilpatrick and her husband, K.D. of Ruston, LA. and Jeanette Key and her husband, Billy of Clinton,, MS. He leave three grandchildren, Melanie Kilpatrick and her husband, David Willets, Melissa Key and her husband, Dewayne Ballard abd Billy W. "Woody" Key and his wife, Cassey. Great-grandchildren surviving are Beau, Jordan, and Anna Charlotte Jarrell; Aston, Brecken and Lacy Ballard; and Kyndal and Kylie Key. Mr Burford leaves one brother, William R. Burford of Crenshaw, MS. and is preceded in death by his other brothers and sisters, Audley, Leroy, Vernon Young Jr., Lamar and Fred Burford, Clara Goodwin, Mildred Goodwin and Bessie Mae Bratton. He is also survived by five nieces and eight nephews.
Services were held Saturday, September 2 at Crenshaw United Methodist Church in Crenshaw, MS. Pate-Jones Furneral Home in Senatobia, MS. had charge of the services.
