Mr. Thomas W. "Duck" Galbreath, age 60, of Alston, died Saturday night in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin, after an extended illness. Mr. Galbreath was a lifelong resident of Toombs and Montgomery Counties, a retired merchant, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eddie Mae Galbreath of Alston; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret McLean of Adrian and Mrs. Mary L. Booth of Vidalia; a stepson, Edward E. Jewell of Brunswick; a sister, Mrs. Florence Booth of Vidalia; three brothers, Walter D. Galbreath and I.D. Galbreath of Vidalia, and Theron Galbreath of Fort St. John, Canada; and five step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Galbreath were held at 3:00 P.M. Monday at the New Corinth Baptist Church, with the Reverend Lonnie Hayes and Reverend G.D. Ricketson officiating. Interment was in the Galbreath Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Hugh Galbreath, David Galbreath, Everette Booth, Hugh Peeples, Neal Tippett, and Sam Galbreath. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Smith, William Phillips, Luther Waller, G.P. Tippett, Maryland Rockett, Alonzo Wilkes, Herman Wilkes, Paul Downie, Troy Barnes, and Everett Hart.

Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
