Mr. JOHN S. GROVE, son of the late Daniel Grove arrived at the home of his mother, Mrs. Margaret Grove, in Sharpsburg, last Thursday evening in the final stages of consumption, and died on Monday.
Mr. Grove for a number of years practiced law at Oakland, Garrett County, where he married Miss Deveemon. He was educated at Newton College and the University of Maryland at Baltimore. After reading law under Jervis Spencer and being admitted to the bar in Baltimore, he taught school at Liberty, Frederick County, subsequently removing with his mother's family from the latter place to Sharpsburg, and going to Oakland about 1877.
His funeral will occur on Wednesday, the services to be held at the home of his mother. He was about 47 years of age.
