Diane worked as a paralegal most of her career which included 10 years at Plymouth County Probation Court in Plymouth, MA. She also spent time working for the government as a website designer and developer from a company she started in 2001 called DACBase. In her spare time she enjoyed woodworking, dressmaking and researching family genealogies.
A unique soul, Diane was very easy going, free-spirited and enjoyed life to the fullest. Diane gave encouragement and a listening ear to her family and friends. She loved those around her especially well. She was strong when the times called for strength, extending her life well past her original diagnosis with a stubborn survival mentality. Diane had a tremendous passion for Christmas. At Christmas time, her home was usually decorated from top to bottom with hundreds of decorations collected throughout the years. Many of her relative's fondest memories of her came during this time of the year. Another great passion was the Wizard of Oz. She could recite every line and sing every song from the movie without hesitation.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Diane is survived by her husband, Terry Gary of Sherman, ME; her children Carolyn (Preston) Hardy, Cherilyn (Ron Ryan) Rossi, Tina (Stephen) Miller and David Bender; her sisters, Victoria (William) Furness and Deborah (Richard) Nugent; her brothers, Daniel Barnaby, Dennis Barnaby, Donald Barnaby, Edward Barnaby, John Stacy Barnaby and Jeffrey Barnaby. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Henry Bender Jr.; her sister, Theresa (Lawrence) Chisholm; and her brother, Gary Barnaby.
