Joseph Bosler was the son of Charles and Mary (Watson) Bosler. Born in Ogontz 2 mo 24 1846. He was educated at Friends Central School, Philadelphia, and Philadelphia Business College from which he graduated in 1864. He succeeded his father as proprietor of the Ogontz flour and feed mills in 1872 and was still operating them at his death on 9 mo 10, 1910. He was prominently identified with the affairs in the city, serving as director of the National Bank of Germantown, a trustee of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., and filling a number of other directorships. He was a man of wide influence in political matters, a member of the Union League and was delegate to numerous state, congressional and county conventions of 1884, 1888, 1892, 1896 and 1900, and was a presidential elector in 1904. He was a man much honored and respected wherever he was known.
