Elizabeth my "second great grandmother" was born to Frederick Hoenig (Haney) and Elizabeth Yost on January 24th 1796. She was one of six children, one brother who was a twin died at birth. Elizabeth was a young girl when her father Frederick was one of three men arrested, tried and convicted of treason and sentenced to be hung for being one of the 3 leaders in charge of the "Fries Rebellion" "House Tax Rebellion" in Bucks County Pa. It was in opposition to the direct federal property tax of 1798, where homes were going to be accessed according to the size and how many windows they had. After his trial he was pardoned by president John Adams. Adams was prompted by the narrower constitutional definition of treason, and he later added that the rebels were "as ignorant of our language as they were of our laws" and were being used by "great men" in the opposition party. He issued a general amnesty for everyone involved on May 21, 1800. Very interesting read.

Elizabeth married John Augustus Edmond's Jr on April 23'd 1814 at the "First Reformed Church of Easton." Elizabeth and John had seventeen children ( still confirming infancy deaths). Elizabeth was a homemaker and her husband John was a gunsmith. Elizabeth died Oct 29th 1869 from "CONSUMPTION" (Tuberculosis) at age 73. She is buried at the Aaronsburg Reformed Cemetery in Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania.
