Father of Christopher Abriel, Matt Abriel, Teddy Abriel Jr., and Erin Abriel.

Passed away in the "Line Of Duty" with the Albany Fire Department, Albany, NY.

Theodore was searching for victims on the sixth floor of a high-rise structure fire when he collapsed. He was rushed to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Theodore had operated at 3 other structure fires earlier that day.

Thedore Abriel was a fourth generation firefighter. The Abriel family has been a part of the Albany Fire Department for 140 years. Ted's late father Warren Abriel Sr. was a Battalion Chef, his brother Henry Abriel is a retired Captain, his other brother is Deputy Chief Warren Abriel Jr, and there are several nephews on the department.

Ted was a member of the local, state and federal firefighters unions and was the unit leader of the Albany Firefighters Honor Guard.

He was also the owner and operator of Firefighters Embroidery.
