Born in Albany, on November 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Warren Abriel Sr. and Gladys Hart Abriel.
Henry served as a firefighter in the Albany City Department of Fire for 30 years, retiring as a captain in 2004.
Henry enjoyed Tuesday mornings at the Gateway Diner for breakfast with his fellow retired firefighters.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Bechet Abriel; his brother, Warren Abriel Jr. (Mary Theresa); his sister, Linda Abriel Meservey; his sisters-in-law, Linda Torrisi Abriel, Jeanne Barnes (Kenneth), Jacqueline Witty (Robert), and Marianne McGuirk Bechet; and a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Ted Abriel Sr., and brothers-in-law, Bruce Meservey, and Paul Bechet.
The Rite of Committal will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
