Amos Oscar Griggs of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 30, 1929 in Potosi, a son to the late Clarence Griggs and the late Ollie (Broobaugh) Griggs. On May 30, 1990, Amos was united in marriage to Emma Montgomery.

Amos entered eternal rest on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the St. Anthony's Medical Center having reached the age of eighty-seven years, nine months and seven days.

Amos will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his children: Carol Frazier and husband Doug of Potosi; Sissy Webb and husband Chester of St. Louis; Gary Garner and wife Karen of Cape Girardeau; Carolyn Sue James and husband Gene of Cadet; Dennis Chiles and wife Shirley of Arnold and Ronnie Chiles and wife Margie of Cadet; one brother, Kenny Griggs of Spokane, Washington; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma Griggs; three brothers: Ernie, John and Oral Griggs; two sisters: Edna Sohn and Edith McDaniel and his first wife and mother of his children, Lucille Griggs.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, July 14, 2017 from 9-11 a.m.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ardell Gray officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Horine Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral services for Amos during this time of remembrance.
