Henry C. Bloss, 81, of 2485 Friesian Road, York, formerly of Allentown, died Wednesday in York Hospital. He was the husband of Katharine L. (Kopp) Bloss.
An executive for the American National Red Cross, he directed several major national disaster operations and was a national fund-raising consultant. In 1956, he directed the Red Cross Hungarian Refugee Program with the U.S. Military at Camp Kilmer, N.J.
Bloss previously was a Red Cross field director, field supervisor and area director of services for U.S. military installations during World War II and the Korean War. After retiring in 1973, he was a volunteer field consultant for five years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Clinton and Anna (Edwards) Bloss.
He was a member of Union Lutheran Church, York.
He was part owner of White Heron Lake Inc., Poconos.
Survivors: Wife; son, Henry W. of Redmond, Wash.; sisters, Rachel and Elizabeth, both of Allentown; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York. Call 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
