As relayed by William Parsons; My grandfather: He was an extremely intelligent man. He was a heavy smoker until a heart attack in 1952 changed his lifestyle. He had another in 1955 driving one Sunday on Cape cod and only survived by the doctor injecting is heart with snake venom. True story. Then he went on a strict diet and survived another 24 years. He died of a massive heart attack at 86. Was a mess sergeant in WWI in France. He owned the kitchen. My grandmother only was allowed in there to bake an apple pie on Sunday am and to cook my uncle dick (her next oldest brother) breakfast when he stayed over. Up at 7 am nap at 1 pm to bed at 10 pm. 1 beer a day. Jello every day. Puffed wheat with banana for breakfast every day. Water then prune juice every day b4 breakfast. And I had to have it too before my breakfast.
