Gloria was born on August 3, 1924 in New Britain, to the late Nicodemus "Mike" and Elizabeth (Tomalonas) Michaels. She graduated from New Britain High School and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford. She kept the nursing license current until her passing. Gloria was a founding member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Durham where she taught religious education classes.
She was also a Den Mother for Troop 27 in Durham.
She was the devoted mother of Roger A. Arcand of Middletown and Gloria (Arcand) Snell of Chesterfield, MO, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine (Michaels) Pankonin of Farmington; four grandchildren, Deirdre Arcand and Adam, Amy and Jeanne Marie Snell; and three great grandchildren, Alex, Jackson and Amanda Grace Snell. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Helen O'Brien, Mary Sweeney, Ann Luke, John Michaels, Michael Michaels, and Eleanor Bergeron.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
