Dean, Wister James, 93, passed away July 2, 2017. He was an Army veteran, retired from Georgia Pacific, and was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.

Wister was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Griffin Dean; and son, James Edward Dean.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Hattie Coleman, Beverly Sullivan (Joe), and Mildred Butler (Howard); grandchildren, Carol (Terry), Regina (Keith), Nathalie (Daryl), Clydeen (Jesse), Maruice, Elisa, Karen (Karrachand), Larita (Lester), William, Joe (Janice), James (Crystal), Audie (Latosha), Christopher (Ella), and Nakeisha; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; niece, Mamie Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 12 pm at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 S. 28th St., with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 am-12 pm at the church.

Memorial contributions in memory of Wister can be made to Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
