Kay Prochazka

Kay Richard Prochazka, 79, of Centennial, passed away on June 29, 2017 peacefully at home. Kay was born on June 30, 1937 to Bernard J. and Rhema I. (Harper) Prochazka. He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in 1955. Upon Graduation, he joined the US Navy and served his country for 2 years. He worked as a manager in the telecommunications industry for 36 years and retired from AT&T. He married Kay Prochazka on Nov 24, 1987, and together they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage.

Kay loved spending time with his wife, Kay. They were inseparable. Together they traveled, skied, biked, which also included (4) MS150 long distance rides, spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles, and always held his wife’s hand while they walked.

Kay had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. He always had an open door for any family, friends, or neighbors. He was a diehard Denver Bronco’s, Rockies, & Air Force fan.

He and his wife faithfully attended and supported Our Lady of Loretto parish, and other charities.

He is predeceased by his parents, brother Paul, son-in-law Brad Rodemich, brother-in-law Larry Holman, & great niece Jessica R Holman.

In addition to his wife, Kay, he is survived by his 4 children from his first marriage to Patricia Teevin: Jon Prochazka and wife Christina, Gina Osland and husband Brent, Danette Maas and husband Dave, Steve Prochazka and wife Melanie; his grandchildren: Bryant Rodemich, Brynn Skarbonkiewicz and husband Adam, Lindsey Mailloux and husband Jacques, Britt (Fox) Rodemich and husband Mike Perkins, Kelsie, Garrett, & Trevor Prochazka, Oliva & Josef Osland, Leah & Lauryn Prochazka; his great-grandchildren: Magda, Maksymilian & Milena Skarbonkiewicz. His siblings: Colleen, Donnie and wife Bobbie, Mick and wife Patty, sister Patty, Karen and husband Brand, Jeannie and husband Lou, Maureen and husband Gary.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 5PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014, with a Rosary service at 7PM. A Funeral Mass for Kay will be on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, 18000 E Arapahoe Rd, Aurora, CO 80016, followed by a reception in the church hall.
