WEBSTER – Maythol Pischke 82 of Webster passed away Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 1, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Mike DeKraai and Pastor Bob Grebel will officiate. Burial will be in the Ortley Cemetery, near Ortley, SD.

Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster.

Maythol Durene Hjellming was born on August 28, 1934 to Alfred and Aldora (Larson) Hjellming at Summit, South Dakota. The family lived on a farm south of Summit where she grew up. She was baptized at the Methodist Church and later confirmed at the Summit Lutheran Church. She attended country school near her home.

On December 10, 1951 she was united in marriage to Virgil Cleveland in Summit. After their marriage the couple lived in several towns including Summit, Browns Valley, Minnesota, Lily, Webster and eventually Waubay where he was engaged in farm work.

In 1980 she moved to Webster. She married Eugene Pischke on September 25, 1982. They lived in Webster. She worked at Wist Produce and in 1967 began working at Bethesda Home in Webster where she worked for 35 years. She also worked in nursing homes in Roslyn and Bristol until retirement. She also sold Park Lane jewelry for several years. Her husband, Gene passed away in June 1996.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster and while a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Waubay she was active in Circle. She loved shopping, gardening, raising flowers and traveling. She enjoyed cooking dinners at her home and visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed children.

Maythol is survived four sons, Norman (Faith) Cleveland of Sherrills Ford, NC, Rodney (Dorothy) Cleveland of Mevane, NC, DeEll (Patricia) Cleveland of Waubay, SD and Robert (Pamela) Cleveland of Webster, SD; one sister, Darlene Davis of Wilmot, SD; twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joan, her husband, Gene and seven brothers and sisters.
