Jessie was born May 4, 1930, in Elk River, to Col. William and Dorothy E. (Beck) Smith. When she was 2 years old the family moved to Bovill, where she attended school and graduated.
She worked as a "flunkie" in the Forest Service camps prior to her marriage to Ruthford L. Linderman on Jan. 6, 1956. They lived, loved, and worked in Bovill, where she was a homemaker and raised her sons. She enjoyed reading, crochet, cooking, and gardening.
The family spent many summers "camping" while Ruthford worked logging. He preceded her in death in 2013.

In addition to her husband, Jessie also was preceded in death by her son, Paul, in 2015; sister Leota Calene McIntyre; and nephew Randy Calene.
A private graveside service was held at the Bovill Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Bovill Fire Department or to the Deary Ambulance Fund.
