Funeral services for Donald Douglas, age 82, of Bloomfield, were Saturday April 8, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bloomfield with burial in the Beaver View Cemetery in rural Crofton.
Visitation was Friday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bloomfield.
Mr. Douglas died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Faith Regional Health services in Norfolk.
Donald Dean Douglas was born to Leonard and Bessie (Jackson) Douglas on May 27, 1923 at Crofton, NE.
He married Shirley Mae Carlson on February 25, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crofton, NE.
Donald was a farmer most of his life.
Donald and Shirley had five children, Fred (Penny) Douglas of West Laffayette, IN, Gary (Joyce) Douglas of West Laffayette, IN, John (Laura) Douglas of Lincoln, Kevin (Debbie) Douglas of Yankton, SD, and Kristine (Tim) Schulz of Bloomfield.
They had 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife, 4 sons, and 1 daughter; all grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leone Merchen of Norfolk and Charlotte Kollars of Crofton. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mavis Merchen.
