Born c 1758. Son of Colonel John Green of Culpeper County and Susanna Blackwell, daughter of Colonel William Blackwell and Elizabeth Crump.

Robert married first cousin Frances Edmonds, daughter of Colonel William Edmonds and Elizabeth Blackwell. Children of Robert and Frances are Susanna Eliza Green and Robert Green.

Served in the Revolutionary War as Lieutenant under his father Colonel John Green, in the 6th Virginia Continental Army. Served from 1775 until the end of the war.

Died at the home of his brother General Moses Green in Culpeper County, Virginia.

About 1824, widow Frances migrated to KY & settled near Blue Licks, Nicholas Co, KY. Died in Fleming Co, KY.
