Adjutant General of the State of Virginia. A grandson of Robert Green who emigrated from England to Virginia in 1710 and one of the seven sons of Col. John Green. He served in the War of 1812 and afterwards made Adjutant General of Virginia. He was born, lived and buried at the family plantation, Liberty Hall. He owned land in Fauquier County, including a tract on which the Fauquier White Sulpher Springs, a pre Civil War resort was located. Was married to Frances Richards.
