Killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on board the USS Oklahoma. Additional information available on FAG 56118052 and FAG 77290260. George Coke, Jr. was re-interred with full military honors on June 24, 2017, 76 years after being killed in action.

Seaman First Class George Anderson Coke, Jr. lost his life aboard the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. A public Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the First United Methodist Church of Arlington with the Rev. Dr. David Mosser officiating. Words of the Military will be delivered by Rear Admiral Beale. The Arlington Police Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Parkdale Cemetery, in Arlington, with full U.S. Navy Honors under the directions of Moore Funeral Home. Seaman First Class George Anderson Coke, Jr. will be interred alongside his father George A. "Dutch" Coke, Sr. (1895-1937) and mother, Julina Jane Tomlin Coke (1895-1960), and other relatives. George A. Coke Jr., born on August 6, 1923, enlisted in the U.S. Navy his senior year in Arlington High School. He was serving on the USS Oklahoma, moored at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese struck. The Oklahoma sustained multiple torpedo hits, which caused it to quickly capsize. The attack resulted in the deaths of 429 crewmen, including Coke. No single vessel at Pearl Harbor, with the exception of the Arizona, suffered as many fatalities. Recently identified, the family chose to bring George home to be laid to rest in the space his parents planned for him for over 76 years at Parkdale Cemetery. George is survived by many relatives and a classmate. He was a talented football player and boxer, and was loved by all.
