WARREN
- Charles U. McAlister, 99, United Methodist Memorial Home, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday in the home.
Mr. McAlister was born in Alva, Okla. He lived in Fairmount before moving to Warren on Sept. 14, 1975. He married Mary Ratcliffe on June 29, 1930, in Kokomo. She died Jan. 20, 1980. He owned and operated a Ben Franklin Store, Fairmount, for 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Fairmount Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Fairmount, and the Gideon Association, North Camp. He was also a member of Fairmount United Methodist Church.
There are no survivors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. McAlister and Ethel Bristow.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, with the Rev. John Pattison officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Glancy Funeral Homes, Butler Chapel, 131 N. Wayne St., Warren, is handling the arrangements.
