Orion Dale Gideon, 59, of Sparta, died Monday, May 20, 1996 in Cox Medical Center, Springfield. He was born April 5, 1937 in Sparta, and was the son of Eldo and Ora Gideon. He served six years in the U.S. Army. On July 2, 1976, he was united in marriage to Kathylene Letterman. Together they had one daughter, Mariea Ann. Dale was a wonderful, loving, and hardworking husband and father. He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eula Mae Burkhart: and a brother, Eugene Gideon. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; a daughter, Mariea Ramos and her husband, Jason, Fordland: four sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Shirley Loomis, Sue Schreiner, and her husband, George, all of Sparta;and Faye Rantz and her husband, Kenneth, Kissee Mills: two brothers, Leo Gideon, and Don Gideon and his wife, Connie, all of Sparta, and a host of family and friends.
