John C. Whisler, 79, died Saturday [March 9, 1968] in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient one day. He had been in failing health for several weeks, and he made his home at the Lahr Hotel in downtown Lafayette. Born in Tippecanoe County, he had lived in this area his whole life. He was a retired employee of the Indiana Gas Co., where he worked for about 40 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lehnen of Wolcott and Mrs. Martha Chapman of Logansport.
