I'm Ukrainian. My country is invaded by Russians. The Khiva campaign of 1873 Nikolay Romanov participated in was a military expedition of the troops of the Russian Empire with the aim of conquering the Khiva Khanate in 1873.
Main goal of the Khiva campaign was the Annexation of Central Asia to Russia.
In 2014 Russia annexed Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. On 24 February 2022 Russia started a full scale war in Ukraine which is still going on as of 12 July 2023.
I hope it is clear why I'm not going to accept edit suggestion of adding status of Veteran to this and all similar memorials.
