DENTON, Leora Francis HOWE
Mrs. DENTON, 73, dies; rites set this afternoon
Mrs. Leora DENTON, 73, of 1658 E. Jefferson St., died at 2:15 o'clock Sunday morning at the Clinton County Hospital. She had been ill for several months.
Mrs. DENTON was a life-long resident of Clinton County. She was born near Kirklin on Sept. 19, 1891, the daughter of Charles Samuel and Ida Ann TALLEY HOWE. She was a member of the East Side Pilgrim Holiness Church. She was the widow of Earl "Coxey" DENTON, well-known Frankfort City Fireman. They were married in 1914 and he died May 6, 1934. She is survived by two sons, Charles DENTON of Colorado Springs, Colo., and M-Sgt. John M. DENTON, stationed in Africa with the Air Corps; two daughters Mrs. Mary BROWN of Englewood, Calif., and Mrs. Helen AYRES of Frankfort; six sisters, Mrs. Elma BOND of Farmington, Ill., Mrs. Laura DIETERLE of Jackson, Mich., Mrs. Florence KARENBAUER of Massillon, Ohio, Mrs. Mary LUGAR of Camby, Mrs. Ona PICKRELL of Noblesville, and Mrs. Zora BRUMBARGER of Frankfort; three brothers, Jesse HOWE of Dearborn, Mich., Carl HOWE of Washington D.C., and Willard HOWE of Massillon; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Raymond DENTON, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. Walter BLACK will officiate and burial will be made in the Bunnell Cemetery. It was announced that friends may call at the Funeral Home.
