Richard Lee Cameron of New Manchester passed peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester. 
Richard was born on April 19, 1930 in Pughtown, Hancock County.  He was a son of the late Clyde Leonard and Volga A. Ferguson Cameron.
After 39 years, Richard retired from Weirton Steel.  He was a graduate of New Cumberland High School and a dedicated and lifetime member of the New Manchester Christian Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and Elder.  He was a charter member of the New Manchester Volunteer Fire Department as well as a member of the New Cumberland Masonic Lodge.
Richard proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Left to cherish his memories, are his loving wife Doris Priest Cameron, at home, his children Julie Stuck and her husband, Frank of Lancaster, OH and Steve Cameron and his wife, Donna of Charlottesville, VA. His siblings Jim (Carol) Cameron, Lois (Bill) Robb and preceded in death by a brother Leonard (Darlene) Cameron.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
His nephew, Jeff Sayre will celebrate Richard’s life on Monday, June 5th at 11am at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.  Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8pm. Internment will be at the Union Cemetery in New Manchester.
