Born in Elsmore, Kan. on July 14, 1915, she was the daughter of Isom Eskridge and Nola Sheiley. She married Gene Fairfield in Thorntown in 1969, and he survives.
She worked for Thorntown Textile for sometime, and was a mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Apostolic Church, where she played and sang, and she enjoyed sewing, reading, and going to yard sales.
Survivors are also children LaDonna Doran of Kirksville, Md., Margie Morton and husband Leroy of Shreveport, La., Carlena Williams, Lois Cole and husband Steve and Elsie Fairfield, all of Thorntown, Linda Frietzsche and husband Rick of Avon, Rita Batten of Hamilton, Ohio, John Washburn and wife Darlene of Indianapolis, James Washburn and Tom Fields and wife Marta, all of Lebanon; a stepson, Larry Fairfield of Linden; 32 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers, a son, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren are deceased.
