Dexter Bays, 87, of Lyons and formally of Bloomfield passed away at 10:05 P.M. on February 9, 2007 at Lyons Health & living Center in Lyons, Indiana. Born March 2, 1919 in Greene County, Indiana he was the son of Roscoe & Minnie (Bland) Bays.

He was a truck drive for Transport Motor Express. He was retired. He belonged to the teamsters and was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Ladder-Day Saints in Linton, Indiana.

Surviving Relatives are 1 daughter Kebra R. Wolf, Kevin R. Bays & Ricky Kyle Bays all of Bloomfield. 2 sisters Marjorie Jeffers of Bloomington Indiana, & Dorothy Griffin Dallas Fort Worth Texas. 10 Grandchildren, & 11 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vernalee (Royal) Bays on July 29, 2003. 1 sister Mabel Thompson, 1 great grandson Drum N. Poynter and his parents

Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday February 12, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and 9:30 A.M. till the hour Tuesday.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bishop Joe Willson, and Ray Wolf officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
