Mrs. Mary Mottin Died Wednesday Morning At Home of Daughter
Mrs. Mary Mottin, 79, died early Wednesday [Jan 9] morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Etzenhouser, in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Mottin lived in Potter until about six months ago when she went to Kansas City to make her home with another daughter, Mrs. Margaret Downs.
She was born June 8, 1877, at Kickapoo. As Mary Harris she was married on April 19, 1898 to Leon August Mottin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Kickapoo. Mr. Mottin died April 25, 1938. She had lived in Leavenworth and Atchison Counties her entire lifetime.
Surviving are two daughters, two sons, Leon F. Mottin, Potter, and Claude L. Mottin, in the Air Force at Enid, Okla., and four grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday [Jan 11] at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, north of Potter. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph's of the Valley Cemetery.
Friends assembled at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Davis Funeral Church for recitation of the Rosary.
