Ruby was the third of six children born to Henry and Mamie Lucinda Annett Hildreth.
On April 4, 1936 Ruby married Inman Charles Black in Hugo, Choctaw County, OK. They had six children: Roxie Lee who married Norris Eugene Craig; Mamie Charlene who married Elmer Louis Rose; Charles Aubrey who married Delores Ann Pope and later Connie Jean Brown; Linda Marie who married Billie Dwayne Yarbrough; Roger Glenn who married Pamela Ann Seaton; and Lena Kay who married Jimmey Edward Hodges.
Ruby worked as a homemaker and mother all her life. She and Charles lived in many places including Pagosa Springs, CO; Nashville and DeQueen, AR; Chicota, Kermit, Gunnison, and Irving, TX; and Oklahoma City, OK. She excelled at cooking and keeping a spotless home. Her favorite color was red; flower was rose; season was spring; food was fried chicken.
In death, she was survived by all six children and ten grandchildren.
