Ira was the first son of Rice Honeywell, Continental Soldier in the Revolutionary War. He married Charlotte Mary "Polly" Andrews 29 Nov 1801 in Upper Canada.
Ira died while visiting his son Lyman. He was buried in a little-known English cemetery called Cottage Hill Cemetery at the intersection of West Avenue and Fellows Court in Elmhurst. In 1953 the cemetery land was developed for a shopping center and the remains of at least seven graves were moved to an unmarked grave of "unknowns" in Elm Lawn.∼Husband of Polly nee Andrews, son of Rice. Unidentified remains moved to Elm Lawn Cemetery.
