Mr. Goss was born December 9, 1911 in Fruita, Colorado and was a 76-year resident of Ventura. He moved his family to California during the Ventura oil boom after losing their cattle ranch in Colorado due to a severe winter. Mr. Goss was employed as an electrician by Getty Oil Company for 30 years, retiring in 1973. He was an active member in the First Christian Church for several years and a member of the Poinsettia Lodge No. 633 F. & A.M. He loved deep sea fishing and hunting and was devoted to his wife and family. He married Pauline Bessie Walker March 25, 1932.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Pauline; son Donald Goss of Ventura; daughters Donna Turner of Ojai, Janet Alread of Lompoc and Janice Ellis of Ventura; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19, 1999, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Bible Fellowship Church in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, California.
