Services for Clara Bernice (Cheatom) McKnight, 93, of Wells, will be held May 21, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mrs. McKnight was born October 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Georgia Mae and Jesse James Cheatom. She passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. McKnight was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and cooking for everyone. She worked for Polk Oil Company for a number of years. Mrs. McKnight was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy McKnight and Rosalie (McKnight) Melancon; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 46 great-great grandchildren; and a number of other family members.
Services placed in trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
