Jack Perry Hayes, age 84, of Jack Hayes Road, Boone, died May 16, 2017 at the Foley Center. He was born June 18, 1932 in Watauga County. Jack was retired from the Department of Transportation where he worked as a motor grader operator. He was also a cattle farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Glada Vines Hayes; two sons, Richard Hayes and Jimmy Hayes and wife Donna all of Boone; two grandsons, Lucas Hayes and fiancé Shleby, and Todd Hayes, all of Boone; and one sister, Grace Greene of Boone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Dale Hayes, and two brothers, Lee and John Hayes.
Graveside services were held at the Jont Brown Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Derick Wilson and Rev. Gary Shew.
