After a three-year battle with cancer, Anita passed away in the home of her daughter, Karen Hickman, in Pasadena, Tx on May 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Denny Delafield. In addition to her daughter, Anita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Hickman of Pasco, WA, and their daughter, Mary-Grace Hickman, currently a senior at Texas A&M University.
Her great loves in life included her family, faith, travel, wonders of the world, both natural and manmade, and music. These loves were passed on to her children and grandchild, along with a strong sense of self-reliance, a belief in education, and an appreciation of frugality.
A viewing will be held at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena on Monday, May 15, from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church, Pasadena on Tuesday, May 16 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Anita Delafield may be made to the Pasadena Independent School District Education Foundation for the Delafield Chess Program at 1515 Cherrybrook, Pasadena, TX, 77505
