Artricia Ann Blades
Artricia Ann (Abbott) Blades, 69, of Nampa, passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017.
She married Gary Blades on June 12, 1964. Soon separated by military service, her strength was his rock and support through that difficult period. As Artricia and Gary built their life together, they opened their hearts and home by adopting two children who needed them very much. Throughout her life, she fought tirelessly as their protector and strongest advocate while providing them with unbound love, guidance, acceptance and understanding.
Growing up in Kuna with six sisters and two brothers, Artricia was caretaker and friend to many. Focused on the needs of others, she always offered a listening ear and never let people leave unless they were well-fed. She loved butterflies, sunsets, and spending time with family.
Children were very important to her and she continuously looked out for those kids she found in need. She influenced many young lives, including her nieces and nephews, grandkids and a special boy named Brent.
She is survived by Gary, her husband of nearly 53 years, a daughter, Melanie Blades, a son and his wife, Scott and Emmi Blades, two beautiful grandkids, Adyn and Ayla Blades, and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by two children, Shannon and Jenni Blades; a grandson, Toran Ybanez Adonais; her parents, Raymond and Leah Abbott, a sister and two brothers.
Services will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the LDS church at 7809 Deer Flat Rd, Nampa. A viewing period will precede the service at 1 pm. The procession to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens will end with a short graveside service and a dinner will follow at the church to gather, share time, and tell stories.
