Isaac Newton Carlock, son of Job Carlock by his second wife, Elizabeth Johnson.

Isaac married Nancy Mays Smith July 7,1853. They lived in Huntsville, Scott County, Tennessee.

At the beginning of the Civil War he was Circuit Court Clerk, also Deputy Clerk and Master under his father-in-law John Lambkin Smith. On account of the invasion of the Federal Army,he was forced to move his family to McMinn County, Tennessee, at which place he died April 28, 1863.
