Mrs. Marianne Deloache Lackey, age 78, died on Monday in Emanuel County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Lackey was born in Claxton, GA but lived in Atlanta for 20 years where she worked as a teacher for Georgia State University. In 1979 she moved back to Bulloch County and taught school at Statesboro High School until her retirement years later. She truly valued spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Frank and Mrs. Marion Deloache.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter in law, Richard (Paige) Lackey Jr. of Littleton, CO, and Eric David of Denver, CO, two grandchildren, Sydney Lackey and Ansley Lackey, and her brother, Frank Deloache Jr. of Atlanta, GA.
A memorial service will be held on June 10th at 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
A reception will follow the service.
