CLEARFIELD - Joseph Clare Bybee passed away December 24, 2001 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, Utah due to complications from pneumonia.

He was born March 24, 1912 in Uintah, Utah, the son of Joseph Orin and May Lawson Grix Bybee. He married Gladys Annie Stoddard on July 7, 1922 in Uintah.

He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 28 years of civil service.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball games and trips to Nevada with his friends.

He is survived by his son F. Kent Bybee (Joyce), Clinton; daughter Karen Ann Bybee Jeffs, Sunset; one daughter-in-law Mrs. Joseph Dwain (Barbara) Bybee, Kaysville; three brothers, Grant G. Bybee; Jesse N. Bybee; C. Reid Bybee all of Uintah; four sisters, Ina Malan, Payson; Lois Anderson, Uintah; Rosalie Garner, Uintah; Ruth Christensen, Preston, Idaho; also eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son and two brothers.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Uintah Cemetery, 1500 East 6000 South. Friends and family may call at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West in Roy on Friday from 9 - 10:30 a.m.
