Hawk, Richard A., 81, He died at 6:14 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at the Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton. He was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Allen County, to John A. and Lenna (Hefner) Hawk. On July 30, 1948, he married Betty Rose Fleming and she survives in Harrod.

Also surviving are three sons, Steven M. (Kay) Hawk and Kenneth R. Hawk, both of Harrod and Edmund J. Hawk of Ada; a daughter, Kathy E. (Hawk) (Robert) Clowers of Lima; a brother, Gerald (Carla) Hawk of Lima; three sisters, Mary Barber of Columbus Grove, Katherine (George) Herron of Rockport and Ada Frances Tussing of Waynesfield; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jacob, Oliver and John Hawk and six sisters, Helen Lawrence, Bertha Holt, Edith Hawk, Margaret Hawk, Mildred Servis and an infant sister, Dertha Hawk. He was a farmer and a dairyman all his life. He retired from Warner and Swasey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II from 1945 to 1946. He was a life member of the Ada VFW Post 9381.

Services for Richard A. Hawk at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, by the Rev. James Kuhn. Burial will be in the Dessenberg Cemetery, Lafayette. Graveside military services will be conducted by Ada VFW Post 9381.
