Charles was born 1888-1890 depending what record you are viewing, though in the 1900 census it was stated that Charlie D Coffin his parents, Price and Mary, in Floyd county, Georgia. At some point after 1900 he and his younger sisters moved from the NE AL/ NW GA area to Cincinnati. He was the son of Price Coffin and Price's second wife Mary. He was the husband of Essie Hurdle Coffin, who was the not too well informed informant on Charle's death record. He worked as a blacksmith as did his older brother George and some others in his family.
