Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Bates Sidwell, 43, 1862 E. Clayborne ave, who died Friday, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at 36 E. 7th South by Cecil Balsar, bishop, Grandview L D S ward.
Mrs. Sidwell had attended the University of Utah and had taught at Salina high school several years. She had lived in Salt Lake City 20 years and was organist in Grandview L D S ward, where she was also active in the Relief society and the Primary Assn.
Mrs. Sidwell was born July 4, 1902, in Monroe, a daughter of Nephi James and Flora Maiben Bates.
Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col. Leonard W. Sidwell, recently returned to Salt Lake City; two sons, Robert James Sidwell, with the U.S. navy at Corpus Christi, Tex., and Richard Leonard Sidwell, Salt Lake City; two daughters, Irene June and Ruth Stella Sidwell, Salt Lake City; a brother, Henry James Bates, Richfield; four sisters, Mrs. Reta Hood and Mrs. Alta Christiansen, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Mildred Watrous, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lucille Ford, Richfield, and a grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Bates, Monroe.
Friends may call at place of funeral at any time prior to services. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial park.
