Roy S. “Junior” Brooks, 84 of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Ricky Clanton and Woody Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P.M. Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jane Brooks; daughters, Aelisha Beckham of Lavergne, TN and Cindy (Stanley) Fant of Crossville; brothers, Bruce Brooks and Waylon Brooks of Fort Payne; sister, Jo Nell McNew of Fort Payne; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Brooks and a daughter, Jennifer Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a native of DeKalb County, the son of the late Roy and Josie Allen Brooks, was an Air Force Veteran and a member and deacon at Little River Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for Dodd Construction for many years.
Pallbearers include, Brandy Pierce, Dillon Dodd, Cody Dodd, Ricky Tallent, Todd Yarbrough and Corey Ivey.
