Thomas married Laura Colenso on 11 March 1893 in Negaunee, Michigan and had three children: Frank, Ethel, and Leola. Thomas was a brakeman in the engine house. He died from peritonitis at the age of 29 years 1 month and 11 days. Laura then married Thomas Wright in 1902.
